Very cool ad, thanks for posting. It’s really all about experiencing what it’s like to fly with Virgin Air.

Sounds like they blew you off for a few years and want you back now. Agree with Ray that they might just have set up the system, but still they should have said something every year.

Agree with Stan that it’s all about the culture. You look cool with an iPhone. You can talk about apps and how to use the phone better with other people. I think we just like being with similar people, and when you have an iPhone you get to join the club and mingle with other users.

    • It really is just human nature to be with people that are like us, so when you have millions of users that have the iPhone, having one of your own brings that mentality that you are part of the “it” crowd. Thank you for responding, Dan.

It’s not like its hard to get rid of, so just do it. Worst thing is someone takes it down.

Sure! It would be an easy way to advertise Axe.

  • Pretty creative advertising for Axe, a line of deodorants and cologne for men. Axe theorizes that the white running man we often see guiding us to emergency exits isn’t running from a burning inferno, but in fact a pack of lust-driven ladies, crazed by the escapee’s Axe scent.

    • This is pretty cool, especially since it doesn’t take much to make it an ad. Really small, really visible advertising. Do you think they just go ahead and post this wherever they see an escape sign?

    • What a fun way to create excitement about a brand. This method is simple, cost effective, and quirky in its advertisement, making it very visible. I would say that this is a clear example of how the simplest form of branding can have significant returns.

    • This is practically destruction of property! Why would a brand even consider this knowing that the signs they are placing this add next to are legitimate signs for public safety? If I saw this, would I know it’s an actual escape route or just some ad? This is dangerous and reckless for the company to do.

Wow! It would definitely put you in a creative frame of mind.

Looks very hi-tech, but I would be totally lost there without assistance of a human. Definitely a cool experiential environment though!

Very creative! I wounder what kind of button could a bank make following the same idea

Agree with Michael that it\’s a bit short sided from the company side to do that, although the pay raise would probably cover the tattoo removal if needed. It doesn\’t necessary demonstrates loyalty if they are basically paid to put a tattoo on.

    • I feel the same. When there’s money involved, I’ll take the bait. Why would someone want to get their company logo tattooed on themselves? Better yet, who would even see it? I’m not gonna plaster it on my face for everyone to see, so where’s the benefit in that?

great example, Tanya! Maybe banks can use those in the branches to have customers draw their dream car or house and take it as a souvenir 🙂 technology will definitely have its impact on experiential innovation

Agree that on-line banking definitely makes it more convenient. I love being able to do things on-line at my own pace without having to go somewhere or wait on the phone. But sometimes, it is very helpful to have a human interaction to resolve bigger problems, get personal attention and advise. I think it would be hard for on-line only bank to…[Read more]

    • I agree that there are times where having the person with you makes banking easier. That is probably our human side kicking in – we want some sort of human interaction because doing things on your own can get lonely and boring. Having someone there takes the burden and weight off your own shoulders.

Thank you for clarification, Michael. I would also think that DDA balance say something about customer\’s loyalty, but it\’s true that alone it doesn\’t indicate the relationship strength. Maybe this affluent customer has a number of such accounts and is not particularly loyal to the specific bank.

thank you for the suggested readings! Agree that banks should re-think their strategy with the use of CRM. Having marketing background, I can see the weaknesses of NPS score and agree that there are definitely improvements needed in this whole system.
