• I get a lot of email from stores and most of them are just plain junk. But seriously, how would you get dialogue from company emails? I don’t know if you reply to the ads and messages stores send to you, but I sure don’t, even if their email address isn’t specifically “do not reply.”

      • It is possible to get feedback and dialogue from company emails when they start asking the right questions. Like the article says, polls are a great way to get the customer involved. More importantly though, you do not have to be replying to the email to get discussion. Maybe the email asks you to join a community of users or provide feedback on items. Getting you involved beyond just buying products is the dialogue that companies are looking for in email. While most messages are just sales pitches, it is important to know that they also are trying to get you to become involved (and eventually emotionally connected to) the company through the overall experience.
